RB or SP when buying in bulk?

I notice Walton Feeds and AAOOB and others sell bulk quantities of some items in Regular Buckets and Super Pails. I've never seen either, so I'd like to know how they compare and which is a better choice for a bucket you will open and close repeatedly.

For example, suppose you have bulk 50lb or so of Hard White or Red Wheat in buckets and you expect to be opening it and closing it periodically to take out smaller batches of 5 or so lb at a time for near term consumption. Is one type better than another in these circumstances?

It sounds to me from these definitions that RB might be better in those circumstances.

RB -- Regular Bucket. 6 Gallon Food Grade Plastic Bucket with Handle, Stackable with Gasket Lid. Packed with foods of your choice. Oxygen Absorbers have been added to provide an oxygen free environment for maximum shelf life. Gasket Lids form an airtight seal. Buckets may be concave or convex after shipping. This is normal and means only that the bucket remains with an airtight seal.

SP -- Super Pail, a 6 gallon bucket with a thick Mylar Liner. Foods are vacuum sealed inside the liner, then oxygen absorbers are added outside the liner in the bucket and a gasket lid hammered into place. Serves as an extra barrier against humidity and changes in atmospheric pressure. The Mylar Liner is a second barrier against loss of bucket integrity.

Re: RB or SP when buying in bulk?

You are correct I think.....get the Regular Bucket if you plan to open and close it on a regular basis.....as in you plan to consume the contents now and until gone.

The SP with the mylar bag is if you plan to stick it away for years and not open.....because once you do, it simply becomes, in effect, the RB pail...and thus you would be paying extra for something of no value to you.
